Deep Water
It started off as a simple agreement
Deep Water
The Plot: A couple in a loveless marriage have an unusual relationship where Melinda Van Allen (Ana de Armas) is allowed to have affairs, just as long as she doesn’t leave her husband Vic (Ben Affleck) and her daughter Trixie.
The Directing: Adrian Lyne returns after a 20 year break from making movies, with this last film being the similar in tone, Unfaithful. Adrian loves to do erotic thrillers and he does them well. This one follows similar themes of what infidelity does to a marriage.
The Screenplay: I enjoyed the twists and turns of the movie. It was well written, but could be slow in some parts.
The Acting: I enjoyed the performances. It’s nice to see Affleck deliver a chilling performance, especially since his last one was more heartfelt in George Clooney’s The Tender Bar.
The Cinematography: It does its job. I mean simple camera movements, basic set ups, the editing does a lot of the work here.
The Editing: Understated well done job by the editing team.
